  1. This year’s Earth Day theme, “ Act Now! Clean Water, Air, & Energy = Healthy Palau” was in line with Palau Water and Sewer Company’s (PWSC) and WfL Palau Core Team goals to provide education about the importance of clean & safe drinking water for the people of Palau. At the Palau Earth Day Fair on April 19th, PWSC’s booth focused on water, from its source to treatment to distribution and simple conservation measures that all could do at home and presented these critical ideas to all grades 1-12 in Koror. A total of over 500 students and 10 schools participated in the Earth Day Fair this year.

On April 21st A Walk N’ Pick, sponsored by PWSC and PREL was also conducted in Airai. From the Koror-Babledaob bridge to the Water Treatment Plant over 60 people, ranging from kids, parents, Airai State employees, and the public, picked up over 30 bags of trash. At the Plant all were given a tour of the operations to highlight the amount of work that goes into providing the public with clean & safe drinking water. All in all it was successful first time for PREL and PWSC efforts to increase water education for Palau and we look forward to continued partnership for year to come.
